Winter Concert

The winter concert was a wonderful success.  The music was terrific and the stage looked beautiful decorated with all of the poinsettias.  Thanks to all of those in attendance, we raised just over $2000.00 for the Kelly Tracy Memorial Fund.  Kelly was the Highland High School percussion student that was hit and killed by a drunk driver in November.

Tax Credits!!

It's not too late, you can still turn in a tax credit for the 2008 tax year.  You can also do this online now.  Just be sure to note the student or program where you would like the funds directed.

Desert Vista will be observing the holidays beginning December 19th-January 4th.  Classes will resume on January 5th.

Mandatory Band Meeting

Please be sure to mark your 2009 calendars for the mandatory band meeting on January 13th.  The meeting will take place in the DV auditorium at 7 pm.  This is a mandatory meeting for the parents of currently enrolled band and percussion students.  If you are not able to make it to the meeting you must talk with Mr. Thye prior to the 13th.

Regionals & Solo/Ensembles

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Regional & Solo/Ensemble event hosted by Desert Vista.  All of the auditions/performances will take place on Friday & Saturday, January 30-31.  Parents, if you are interested in helping with this event, be sure to contact Sandy Warskow, gswarksow@cox.net

Important News Regarding E-Mail

E-mail is used as a primary means of communicating marching band information to you.  In order to ensure you receive this information, we want to maintain the most up-to-date e-mail database possible.  If you would like to be included in the database please let us know how to contact you via e-mail, by clicking on E-Mail – Add/Change or the corresponding link under Reference and following the instructions on that page.  Let us know what band your student is involved with.  If you are currently receiving e-mails you do not need to do anything.  If you change your e-mail address in the future please make sure to let us know.
